Correlation of 1 branch of  Geography with other 2 branches of  Geography

The relationship between 2 different subjects or between 2 different branches of the same subject, which have equal or related or dependent factors is called Correlation.

The subject of Geography has various branches such as –

  1. Physical Geography
  2. Experimental Geography
  3. Regional Geography
  4. Economic Geography
  5. Political Geography
  6. Spatial Geography
  7. Human Geography
  8. Climatology
  9. Etc.

Correlation of Economic Geography with Business Geography-

In economic geography we study the various factors such as communication, production, money-handling, etc. while business geography deals with the financial matters like Trade, Transport, etc. Thus these 2 branches, almost overlap, have some form of inter-relation with each other.

Eg. Production of various agricultural produce affects the trade and import-export of a region.

Correlation of Economic Geography with Regional Geography.

In Economic Geography when we discuss about the production of an agricultural crop like cotton, we must also keep in mind the regional geography of that area where the production is going to take place and factors such as climate, rainfall, location, etc.

Eg. Cotton requires black soil and moist climate for better quality. It is non-perishable so can be located in far away areas.
