Rajasthan state is the largest state in India, as per area. India has 28 states and 8 Union territories as on 26 Jan, 2020. Descending order of top 10 largest states in India is as below :-

Indian well known Thar desert is located in Rajasthan and Jaisalmer city is in the heart of the Thar desert.

Uttar Pradesh is the largest sugarcane producing state of India with 38.61% share in overall production of sugarcane as per data of the year 2013-14.
