What is the Full form of OPD ?

Full form of OPD is the Outpatient Department. It’s the place in a hospital where people go for check-ups or treatments without staying overnight.

Where is the OPD located and what’s inside?

Usually, the OPD is on the ground floor of a hospital. Inside the OPD, there are different sections based on what kind of doctor you need to see. For example, if someone has a bone problem, they’ll go to the Orthopaedics section in the OPD.

What’s the difference between outpatient and inpatient?

  • Outpatient: Someone who visits the hospital for a check-up or treatment and goes home the same day.
  • Inpatient: Someone who stays in the hospital for one or more nights for treatment.
