NATO stands for North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Think of it as a group of 28 countries joining hands to protect each other. They promised that if one country is attacked, they would all defend it. This group has a main office in Brussels, Belgium and came into being on 4 April 1949.
What Does NATO Aim to Do?
NATO’s main goal is to ensure the safety and freedom of all its members. Over the years, they’ve also decided to defend each other from online threats, terrorist acts, and deadly weapons.

- NATO started in 1949, right after World War II. This was when countries like the US, UK, France, and nine others decided to work together against any threats.
